Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio prices are rising.
Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon & 1/2 Marathon broadcast an email message today.
The prices of the Marathon and 1/2 Marathon are rising $10 and $5, respectively, on September 1, 2009.
This is good news for early birds … and even for procrastinators.
Why?
Because it says that Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio has NOT reached its registration limit.
According to this page, online registration for the 2009 event closes November 8, 2009, “or when maximum of 30,000 participants is met.”
Some participants in the inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio event last November told me that they were bussed from their hotels to the starting line and then had to wait up to three or four hours in the cold for the final runners to arrive by bus from their hotels so that they could start racing.
Back on November 16, 2008, the start was apparently delayed by some thirty minutes.
One participant had such a miserable time with the combination of cold and bad logistics that he told me recently that he would not race there again this year.
That is not a great way to add a new city to the Rock ‘n’ Roll series.
Hopefully, this November’s event will be run much more smoothly than the one last November.
Have you ever walked or run in a Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon or half marathon? In which city? What did you like or not like about it?
