FCC Not Interested in Cellphone Safety in Motion
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) likes to issue guidance about cellphone safety, such as here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/09/30/AR2010093006636.html
And the FCC has a page that is promisingly titled “Wireless Devices and Health Concerns” here:
http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/mobilephone.html
But do not assume that the FCC cares about the health effect of your using a cellphone while running or walking.
Generally, when it comes to the federal government in the USA, “cellphone safety” is all about cellphones’ radiation effects on humans.
YOU as a runner or walker have the personal responsibility to look after your own cellphone safety in the complete sense of the phrase.
So please make that commitment and take SpryFeet.com’s “Alert and Alive” pledge for cellphone safety on the road or trail. Thank you!
How do you feel about the U.S. federal government’s focus solely on the radiation aspect of cellphone safety? Please leave a comment here. Thanks!
