I Went from a “Sub-5-Hour” to a “2:20” Marathoner in Under Six Hours
I went from a “sub-5-hour” to a “2:20” marathoner in under six hours.
How? Keep reading!
Look at my marathon chip-times in 2020:
- 5:29 on Jan. 1 at Texas Marathon, which was my fastest marathon since my 5:26 on Jan. 20, 2013, at Houston Marathon
- 5:35 on Jan. 19 at Houston Marathon
- 5:24 on Feb. 9 at Galveston Marathon, which was my fastest marathon since my 5:18 on Jan. 15, 2012, at Houston Marathon
- 4:54 on Mar. 7 at The Woodlands Marathon, which beat my previous marathon PR of 5:02 on Sep. 26, 2010, at Toronto Marathon
My 5:02 PR at Toronto included a three-minute toilet break. Think about that for a moment. So, it was extra special to become a sub-5-hour marathoner (at least once!) last month.
Okay, enough of the suspense!
